Fun news… [Weekly news] — Administrator @

Jaelyn has learned how to ride her bike! She’s been asking for a long time now for Erik to put on the training wheels. We just couldn’t find them so we stole them off of Avery’s bike in hopes he will get the urge to learn how to ride without. He really doesn’t like to ride his bike. Wish he wasn’t such a chicken because he’d have alot of fun.

Erik has a 2nd interview at KSBJ on Monday at 7:15 with the head guys! I’m so hoping they can extend an offer and we can make it work. God has been so good thus far, we just have to keep having faith.

Friday updates [Food for thought] — Administrator @

ok, so I’m not a weather man. The mornings start in the 50’s and get up to the 70’s by mid day. I was only 20 degrees off.

Tonight is the Fall Harvest Festival at Whispering Pines Elementary. They kids will get to wear costumes and play all sorts of games. I donated cookies for the cake walk. It is from 5:30-8:30. I think it’s like a carnival they had at Hope, our church in West Des Moines, each summer. Should be crazy and fun! I work on Halloween. I completely spaced it off too. Now Erik has to bring the kids trick or treating alone. We are tempted to leave a bowl of candy out with a sign for each kid to take 2 but we know that once word gets out, some little sweet tooth will come take the whole bowl! My guess is on Jaelyn.

Erik got a new weed wacker and edger so I’m gonna go play with that this morning. Wish me luck I don’t screw up the whole front lawn.

Did I mention Braden has all 4 of his first year molars in? He’s got 12 teeth now and can bite hard.

I’ve been feeling much better this week than last weekend. I’ve got an appt with the cardiologist on Nov. 17th, hopefully they will do the stress echo that day. I’ve been a little nauseated being on the glucophage again. I guess jumping right back in to that high of a dose wasn’t the thing to do. One thing I don’t like about being on the glucophage is that the pills are huge, I have to take 4 at a time, and you don’t notice any improvement being on the medication because it’s not like tylenol that you take for an ache. You don’t just take this and the PCOS is gone. It’s all about the lab work, the blood levels, and you can’t possibly know what is going on without looking at the results on paper.

Time to go work outside…and inside too as Sprinkles lived up to her name twice last night on my carpet!

Weather here [Food for thought] — Administrator @

Ok, it’s cold enough to see your breath this morning! In the high 30’s to start the day but if it’s like yesterday, it will get into the high 50’s-low 60’s by noon. This is what Steve tells me the whole winter is like here. Then by April we’ll be turning on the AC again. Do I miss not having snow? HECK NO! I don’t miss the ice either! But it’s time to start packing up the shorts and getting out the long sleeves and coats.

Oh yeah, my appt yesterday went fine. I’m suppose to be referred to a cardiologist to have them do a stress echo. I think it’s stupid because this isn’t heart related. It’s muscular. What a waste of time and money. And then they are also referring me to an endocrinologist to manage my PCOS. I did however convince the MD to start me on the glucophage. So that’s the story. No more worries. I’m fine. Yes, my chest and back still have pains when I’m up and around but not near as bad.

Jaelyn’s preschool photo [Children's Place] — Administrator @

Here’s Jaelyn’s preschool photo done at Kindercare. She doesn’t go full time, only 2-3 days a week. They are learning the alphabet and words that start with each letter. She gets to start show and tell on Friday’s, bringing something that starts with the letter of the week. She helps the teacher clean up at school and loves to draw. This weekend we spent most of Sunday making “books” that she created with the help of mom and dad. She’s very creative and artistic.
